The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin tries to bum rush Vinson with a series of wild strikes but Vinson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Vinson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Vinson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Griffin with a lazy takedown attempt
and Vinson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Griffin is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Griffin lands a high kick!
Vinson swings for the body but Griffin moves out of range.
Vinson uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Griffin has time to react.

It looks like Matt Griffin has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vinson gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Vinson lands an uppercut.
Vinson lands on the inside with an uppercut.
A right hook to the body lands for Vinson.
Griffin is breathing heavily.

Vinson lands with a thumping leg kick.

Griffin doesn't manage to clinch there - Vinson circles away.
Griffin has his takedown stuffed
and Vinson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Vinson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Griffin gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Matt Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vinson lands with a thumping leg kick.

Vinson clinches.
Vinson lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Griffin backwards.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Vinson just leaning against Griffin, taking a breather.
Vinson stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Vinson connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Griffin! He's out on his feet! Vinson rushes in and drops Griffin with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
