Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ahmed Pate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Macaou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ahmed Pate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Randy Macaou!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Roger Salmon and Ryoma Takatsuka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pate darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Macaou forces Pate back against the cage and clinches.
Macaou is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Pate is defending well for now.
Pate is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Macaou jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pate walks away with a smile on his face. Macaou gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
The fight stays on the outside here - Pate looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pate shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Macaou as he avoids it easily.
Pate takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Pate goes for a double leg but Macaou avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Macaou continues to drive forward.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pate is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Pate gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Pate gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Pate apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Macaou wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Macaou manages to stand up with Pate still on his back. Eventually Pate drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position.
Pate shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Macaou sprawls well. Macaou wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pate gets slowly back to his feet.
