Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gil Jennings (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Loyd Kingston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gil Jennings has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Gil Jennings!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Loyd Kingston!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kingston darts in and clinches Jennings up against the cage.

Jennings is fighting off a takedown attempt but Kingston is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Jennings to the mat. Jennings regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Kingston really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jennings. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kingston makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Jennings is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Kingston slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Kingston throwing strikes but missing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kingston trying to control but Jennings is working from the bottom.
Kingston postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Jennings pulls Kingston in close to his closed guard and prevents Kingston from doing any damage or advancing position.

Kingston shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Jennings controls Kingston momentarily but Kingston frees himself.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Kingston manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Jennings on his heels. He'll look to pass Jennings's guard now, I'm sure.
Jennings is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jennings is looking to stand up but Kingston isn't so interested in that idea.

Jennings is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kingston is controlling him.
Jennings controls Kingston momentarily but Kingston frees himself.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jennings has control of Kingston's left arm, preventing Kingston from doing any damage.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Jennings pushes Kingston up against the cage in a clinch.
Jennings can't find room to land a body shot as Kingston controls the action.
Jennings tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kingston's elbow.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kingston takes a knee to the side of the body.
Jennings misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Kingston.

Kingston tightens his grip and picks Jennings up, before dumping him to the ground. Jennings manages to land in guard.
Jennings is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Kingston dives into side control.

Jennings manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Kingston looks winded!
Kingston throwing shots but Jennings is blocking nicely.
Jennings gets full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jennings not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Jennings has Kingston pulled in close to control his posture.

Loyd Kingston dominated that round.
That's time! Jennings's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Jennings tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kingston swivels and escapes.
Kingston has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Kingston closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jennings quickly recovers to half guard.
Kingston is trying to control the action in half guard but Jennings is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Kingston tightens his grip and picks Jennings up, before dumping him to the ground. Jennings manages to land in guard.

Loyd Kingston has got the better of the ground game so far.

Jennings is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kingston is controlling him.

Jennings throws a head kick but Kingston moves out of range.

Kingston changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jennings looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Jennings is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kingston's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
The fighters are battling for position here. Jennings manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Jennings has control of Kingston's left arm, preventing Kingston from doing any damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Gil Jennings will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Kingston throws a strike but Jennings rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jennings connects with a nice short shot to Kingston's temple.

Jennings is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kingston sees it coming and defends easily.

Jennings is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kingston doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jennings.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kingston is trying to control but can't.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Kingston closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jennings did well to prevent Kingston getting side control.
Jennings is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kingston's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kingston's back!

Kingston is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Gil Jennings showed his dominance in that final round.
