The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Whitfield tries to sprawl but Hartt drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Hartt trying to pass the guard but Whitfield defending well.
Hartt blocks the strikes from Whitfield.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hartt escapes and gets back to his feet.
Hartt throws a one two combo.

It looks like Ulysses Whitfield has been cut.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Hartt.
Whitfield might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hartt in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Whitfield is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Hartt has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Whitfield is trying desperately to improve position.

Hartt stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Hartt rushes Whitfield with punches - Whitfield moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Whitfield goes down! Hartt follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
