Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gregory Baird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buddy Welcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buddy Welcher will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Welcher is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

It looks like Gregory Baird has been cut.
Welcher bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Baird's head backwards.
Baird drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
A combination from Welcher does no damage.
Welcher throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Baird tries to counter with a takedown but Welcher is quick to defend against it.
Baird showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Welcher.
Baird is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Welcher.
Baird takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Baird moves forwards but Welcher connects with a nice, crisp jab.
A combination from Welcher does no damage.
Welcher throws a left and a right that both miss

and Baird moves into the clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Baird.
Baird fails to pull guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Welcher is trying to break the clinch but Baird has him pressed against the cage.
Welcher can't break the clinch.

Baird gets control of Welcher's arms and successfully pulls guard. Baird will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Welcher is fighting to break Baird's control of his arms but Baird is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Baird really is a fat lump.
Welcher wants to get up but he can't break Baird's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Baird working for a triangle but Welcher defends it easily.
Baird pulls Welcher in close to prevent any damage.
Welcher would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Welcher is sitting in close to Baird's body. Baird has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Welcher is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Welcher is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Baird.
