Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ted Crilly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barry Sanders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ted Crilly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Barry Sanders!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Sanders enables Crilly to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sanders manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Crilly wants to control from the top but Sanders keeps moving.
Sanders is looking to stand up but Crilly isn't so interested in that idea.
Crilly stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sanders swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sanders is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Sanders is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Crilly is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sanders working for a triangle but Crilly defends it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Crilly has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sanders is proving hard to escape from.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sanders looking for a sweep. Not yet Sanders, not yet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Sanders fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Crilly sprawls well initially but Sanders persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Crilly is trying to maintain the position but Sanders is very close to passing his half guard.
Crilly is positioning himself well to prevent Sanders advancing to mount.
Crilly wants to control but Sanders is keeping busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Crilly tries to kick Sanders off but Sanders keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Crilly is holding on to half guard well.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Crilly moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Crilly has momentary wrist control but Sanders slips an elbow through the middle.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Crilly throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Sanders won't allow Crilly to get back to his feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Crilly shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sanders's guard.
Crilly is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Sanders is trying to control the position but Crilly postures up.
Crilly trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Sanders can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Crilly controls the pace.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Crilly's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Sanders looks winded!
Sanders keeping moving, preventing Crilly from controlling successfully.

Crilly controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Crilly tries to free his leg and advance position but Sanders is retaining full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Crilly shoots in but Sanders avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Crilly shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Crilly postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Sanders is working an open guard so Crilly takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nice sprawl there from Sanders as Crilly shoots in.
Sanders shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Crilly pinned against the cage. Crilly gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Crilly tries for a takedown but Sanders sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Sanders fails in his attempt to clinch.
Crilly looks for a takedown but Sanders sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ted Crilly. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sanders fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Crilly.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Crilly closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Sanders's guard.
Sanders controls Crilly momentarily but Crilly frees himself.
Crilly trying to control the position from guard on top but Sanders is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Crilly advances to half guard.
Crilly trying to control the pace.
Crilly stops Sanders from getting back to his feet.
Crilly trying to pass the guard but Sanders defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Crilly content to control rather than advance.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Ted Crilly overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Crilly wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sanders keeps working.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Sanders misses with a body kick.

Crilly rushes Sanders and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Crilly manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Crilly wants to sweep here but Sanders controlling him for the moment.

Crilly is adopting a defensive guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Crilly is on top in guard.

Sanders is breathing heavily.
Sanders being controlled here, momentarily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Crilly trying to control but Sanders is working from the bottom.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Crilly stands up from Sanders's guard - Crilly perhaps looking for a knockout.
Crilly misses with a head kick.

Crilly dives in and scores a takedown into Sanders's guard.
Crilly is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Crilly decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sanders is looking to clinch but Crilly is avoiding it.

Crilly closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Sanders's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Crilly scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Crilly decides to stand back up.
Crilly tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sanders defends well and Crilly ends up having to push Sanders into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Sanders avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Sanders shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Crilly manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Crilly pushes Sanders off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sanders moves in looking to clinch but Crilly pushes him off.
Crilly misses with a series of wild punches.
Sanders takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Sanders throws a good cross that connects.
Crilly is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sanders can do to turn this around?

Crilly goes for a double leg but Sanders avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Sanders continues to drive forward.
Crilly shoots in and drives through. Sanders sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ted Crilly. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sanders darts in looking for a takedown but Crilly gets double underhooks and turns Sanders into the cage.
Crilly goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Crilly jabs at Sanders's body.

Crilly rushes Sanders and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Crilly manages to pull guard.
Crilly looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Sanders avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Crilly looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sanders is one step ahead there.

Crilly is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Sanders frees his head nicely. Oh but Crilly has switched to an armbar! Sanders is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
