Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Phil Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kev Luchiano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Paulo Santos and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luchiano fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Perez, pushing him back against the cage.
Luchiano has Perez pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Luchiano pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Perez tumbling to the mat - Luchiano dives into Perez's guard.
Luchiano pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Perez is keeping the position for now.
Perez manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Luchiano tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Luchiano has clasped his hands together around Perez's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Luchiano has hold of Perez's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Perez tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Luchiano cranks the arm and Perez screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Perez, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Kev Luchiano!
