Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Russ Mcclure (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seaj Vrinzwal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Seaj Vrinzwal has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Russ Mcclure's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Russ Mcclure!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Seaj Vrinzwal!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vrinzwal moves into the clinch.

Vrinzwal tightens his grip and picks Mcclure up, before dumping him to the ground. Mcclure manages to land in guard.

Mcclure is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Vrinzwal presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Mcclure is looking to control Vrinzwal's arms but Vrinzwal gets an underhook and turns him. Now Mcclure has his back to the cage.

Mcclure manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Vrinzwal gets to his feet - Mcclure follows without any prompting.

Vrinzwal throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mcclure was covering up waiting for the punch and Vrinzwal finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Vrinzwal is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Mcclure has his foot on Vrinzwal's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vrinzwal works his way back into a safe position though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vrinzwal is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Vrinzwal slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Vrinzwal postures up and lands a big shot to Mcclure's brow.
Mcclure can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Vrinzwal controls the pace.
Vrinzwal trying to control but Mcclure is working from the bottom.
Mcclure tries to land a sweep but no joy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mcclure doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Mcclure will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Vrinzwal throwing strikes but missing.
Vrinzwal landing some decent shots from guard.
Vrinzwal showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Vrinzwal slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Mcclure is trying to buck Vrinzwal off.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vrinzwal wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mcclure keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
It looks like Vrinzwal might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Vrinzwal lands a decent elbow from side control.
Vrinzwal is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Mcclure will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Mcclure is looking to regain half guard here but Vrinzwal keeps moving and retains side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Vrinzwal trying to control the position but Mcclure is working away.
Vrinzwal tries to advance to mount but Mcclure denies him.
Vrinzwal is looking to take a break and control but Mcclure is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mcclure takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Vrinzwal wants to control but Mcclure is keeping him busy.
Mcclure is letting Vrinzwal control him for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Seaj Vrinzwal dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Mcclure avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mcclure seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Vrinzwal closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Vrinzwal lands in his opponent's guard.

Mcclure pushes Vrinzwal off and gets back to his feet.
Russ Mcclure is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Vrinzwal shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mcclure napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Vrinzwal lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Mcclure down.
A lull in the action here as Vrinzwal stalls from top position.

Mcclure struggling a bit here.
Vrinzwal in side control lands a decent elbow.


Mcclure is rocked!
Vrinzwal cracks Mcclure with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Vrinzwal immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Mcclure is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Vrinzwal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Seaj Vrinzwal!
