Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Michal Korek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vesa Sykk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Korek comes to the cage accompanied by Touch me - Samantha Fox. Sykk has chosen Rage Against The Machine - Killing In The Name as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michal Korek!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Vesa Sykk!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Korek takes one to the chin there.
Korek takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.


Korek is rocked!
Korek scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Sykk looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Sykk fails in his attempt to clinch.
Korek staying out of range there.
Korek throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Korek takes one on the chin but seems OK.
We've been told by Korek's head coaches at Academy of Arse Whoopers that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Korek avoids the body shot from Sykk.
Korek throws a front kick aimed at Sykk's knee but Sykk avoids it well.
Sykk shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Sykk lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Korek at a distance.
Korek tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sykk paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sykk cracks Korek with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Korek checks a leg kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Korek swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Sykk now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Sykk misses with a leg kick
and Korek counters with a good, hard body kick but Sykk shrugs it off.
Sykk fails with an attempt to clinch.
Korek misses with a body punch
letting Sykk counter with a right hand.
Sykk throws a nice looking combination but Korek bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Korek scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Korek moves into range and connects with a jab.
Sykk tries to clinch
and Korek counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Korek pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Michal Korek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Korek throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Korek looks to land a combination. Sykk sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A swing and a miss from Korek.
Sykk looks to throw the jab but Korek is out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sykk thumps Korek with a low kick.
A chopping leg kick lands by Sykk.
That kick from Korek tenderised Sykk's leg. Sykk is trying to keep his angry face on.
Sykk throws a jab when Korek was well out of range.
Sykk shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Korek connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Sykk momentarily.
Korek lands an overhand right.
Sykk throws a shot from downtown. Korek moves away and avoids it.
Korek tries to counter by clinching up but Sykk breaks away and moves out of range.
Korek uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sykk.
Korek misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Korek's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Sykk connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Korek scrambles back to his feet.

Sykk lands a left and a right that send Korek crashing to the mat, dazed. Sykk thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Oh Korek is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!


It looks like Michal Korek has been cut.
Korek throws a jab when Sykk was well out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sykk. Korek does a little dance to reset his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sykk avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Korek throws a solid leg kick but Sykk takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Korek.
Korek rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Sykk counters with a leg kick.
Sykk connects with a stiff jab that staggers Korek - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Vesa Sykk!
A very excited looking Vesa Sykk rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
In defeat, Michal Korek stepped up to the mic, saying 'I would like to apologise to my manager for letting him down. A dominating win would have matched hes heart of gold and kindness, He truly is the most humble man alive. Please forgive me'.
