The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paul throws a right hand that Rones ducks under and follows up with a left that Rones also avoids with ease.

and Rones counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Paul thinking.

Paul moves out of range of the strikes.
Rones scores with a jab. Paul acknowledges it with a nod of the head.


It looks like Bryan Paul has been cut.

Rones swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Paul ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rones moves away.

We've been told by Rones's head coaches at LOD: Legion's PIT Fight Club that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Paul ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Paul goes for a double leg but Rones avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Rones continues to drive forward.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rones on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

A nice side step and Paul releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Paul lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Paul.

Rones loads up on a big right hand but Paul slips the punch.
Rones is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Paul.
Paul looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Rones throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Rones takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

enabling Rones to counter with a crisp jab.

Rones lands a nice hook to Paul's body. Paul takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Rones lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Paul at a distance.

Rones uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Paul.

Paul doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Rones counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Paul lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Rones jabs Paul to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Rones slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Rones wants to get up but he can't break Paul's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Rones looking to sit in guard and control but Paul gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Rones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Paul on the ground.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Paul is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rones defends it well.

and Paul counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Rones counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Paul off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Rones follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Paul was out before he hit the floor.
