Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nelson Carpenter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hannibal CummaS (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nelson Carpenter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hannibal CummaS!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
CummaS throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Carpenter could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
CummaS defending well as Carpenter loads up on a big left hand.
Carpenter slaps away a takedown attempt from CummaS, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Carpenter takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.


It looks like Nelson Carpenter has been cut.
CummaS tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Carpenter swivels and escapes.

CummaS fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Carpenter sprawls well initially but CummaS persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Carpenter tries to push off, looking to stand up, but CummaS manages to move to mount!
CummaS tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
CummaS throwing strikes here but Carpenter is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

CummaS escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carpenter gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


CummaS is trying hard to land a takedown here. Carpenter sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Carpenter tries to counter by moving into the clinch but CummaS manages to circle out of the way.

CummaS breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hannibal CummaS is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Carpenter takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Carpenter shoots in for a double leg but CummaS sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
CummaS raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

and Carpenter counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
CummaS throws a chopping leg kick but Carpenter manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Carpenter is looking to counter the offense by CummaS and move into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

CummaS shoots in looking for a takedown but Carpenter manages to keep the fight standing, pushing CummaS's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Carpenter stands up over CummaS, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Carpenter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

CummaS is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Carpenter defends well.
CummaS is breathing heavily.
Carpenter with a flurry of punches that miss.
CummaS is looking to stand up but Carpenter isn't so interested in that idea.
CummaS bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Carpenter's guard.

CummaS must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Carpenter is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Carpenter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
CummaS wants to stand but Carpenter has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
CummaS has momentary wrist control but Carpenter slips an elbow through the middle.

Carpenter shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. CummaS manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

CummaS defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Carpenter.
Carpenter throws a hook to the side of CummaS's head but CummaS sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Hannibal CummaS seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Carpenter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. CummaS tries to avoid it but Carpenter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag CummaS to the ground. CummaS escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nelson Carpenter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
CummaS dives in and grabs Carpenter's left leg, looking for a takedown. Carpenter pushes down on CummaS's head and hops out.
CummaS shoots in looking for a takedown. Carpenter tries to sprawl out of it but CummaS keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carpenter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

CummaS wants to control from the top but Carpenter keeps moving.

Hannibal CummaS comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well CummaS has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
