The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lee fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sloan sprawls well initially but Lee persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Lee is trying to control the action in half guard but Sloan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sloan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lee gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Lee postures up in Sloan's guard and throws a big left but Sloan blocks it.
Lee lands a couple of elbows.
Lee tries to stand but Sloan is controlling from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sloan will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sloan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sloan wants it to stay on the feet.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Lee closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Lee jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sloan walks away with a smile on his face. Lee gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Lee has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
