PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steve Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerko Matas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steve Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jerko Matas!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Matas closes the distance and clinches.

Matas pulls Diaz into guard.
Matas manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Diaz manages to get himself to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Matas trying to control but Diaz is working from the bottom.

Matas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Diaz swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Diaz is looking for a triangle but Matas pushes his legs off easily.

Matas decides to stand back up. Matas steps back and let's Diaz get back to his feet.

Matas closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Diaz is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Matas pulls his head out easily.

Matas stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Diaz to get to his feet.

Matas jumps guard and drags Diaz to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Jerko Matas comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Matas has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
