Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joao Gabriel Orsini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryan Macpalmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Orsini comes to the cage accompanied by Fury of the storm. Bryan Macpalmer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joao Gabriel Orsini!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bryan Macpalmer!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Orsini tries to clinch but Macpalmer moves out of range.

Macpalmer fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Orsini sprawls well initially but Macpalmer persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Macpalmer is trying to control the action in half guard but Orsini is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Orsini on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Orsini tries to get out of the position.

Orsini kicks off Macpalmer and gets to his feet.

Macpalmer shoots in looking for a takedown. Orsini tries to sprawl out of it but Macpalmer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Orsini manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Horrible takedown by Macpalmer or perhaps it was just good defense by Orsini which made him look bad.
Orsini tries to close the distance and clinch up but Macpalmer swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Orsini forces Macpalmer back against the cage and clinches.
The referee calls for Orsini to work.
Orsini seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
Orsini goes for a takedown in the clinch but Macpalmer prevents it.

Macpalmer has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Orsini can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Orsini escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

A close round but Bryan Macpalmer will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Orsini shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Orsini showed some decent athleticism there.

Well, if Orsini is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Orsini stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Orsini shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Macpalmer pinned against the cage. Macpalmer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Orsini throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Macpalmer's waist but Macpalmer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Orsini off to one side.

Orsini looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Macpalmer's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Orsini is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Macpalmer dives into side control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Macpalmer stands up.
Orsini tries to close the distance and clinch but Macpalmer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Macpalmer bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Orsini tries to bench press Macpalmer off him but Macpalmer keeps the position.
Macpalmer takes a little break here. Orsini wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bryan Macpalmer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!



Macpalmer drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Orsini manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Macpalmer working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Orsini's thigh. Orsini counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Macpalmer won't allow Orsini to sweep him here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Orsini goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Horrible takedown by Macpalmer or perhaps it was just good defense by Orsini which made him look bad.

I would just about give that final round to Bryan Macpalmer.
