Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mariano Hood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nolan Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nolan Diaz is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mariano Hood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nolan Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Ben Watson and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hood takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Diaz looks to land a combination but Hood avoids it well.

Hood closes the distance and pushes Diaz back into the cage.

Hood ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hood no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Hood is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Hood has control of Diaz's left arm, preventing Diaz from doing any damage.

Diaz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Diaz drops back looking for a leg! Hood is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hood manages to kick Diaz off! Diaz jumps back into Hood's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hood is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Diaz is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Nolan Diaz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Hood is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Hood turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Hood manages to end up in side control.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Hood manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mariano Hood.
I think Diaz has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
