Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes misses with a double jab.
Spartakos tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hughes paws at him with a jab and circles away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Spartakos lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hughes circles away quickly and effectively.

Spartakos is trying to drag Hughes to the mat but Hughes just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Hughes has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Spartakos is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Leonidas Spartakos will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
The fight stays on the outside here - Spartakos looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Spartakos could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Hughes in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Hughes turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Hughes manages to end up in side control.

Hughes is working to tighten is grip on Spartakos's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Spartakos has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Hughes is really squeezing tight and eventually Spartakos passes out! Hughes breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
