The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilder connects with a looping right hand.
Wilder lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Jacobs instigates a clinch.

Jacobs with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Wilder to score with a decent uppercut.

Wilder must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Wilder thuds a left hand into Jacobs's body.
Wilder is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Wilder takes the fight into the clinch.

Jacobs has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Wilder uses from the top position.
Wilder loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Jacobs gets tackled into the cage by Wilder. Wilder maintains the clinch.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Jacobs takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Wilder lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Wilder connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Wilder bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Jacobs throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Wilder counters with a right hand to the body.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Wilder. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Jacobs takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Jacobs is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Jacobs is rocked!
Jacobs looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Wilder connects with a superb combination that knocks Jacobs out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Wilder before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Jacobs!
