PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bud Barker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stipe Miocic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Bud Barker has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Bud Barker seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miocic feints and as Barker raises his hands in defense, Miocic changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Miocic postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Barker is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Miocic, into his guard.

Miocic has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Barker is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Miocic.
Miocic is trying to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Barker wants to control but Miocic is keeping him busy.
Miocic holds on to Barker's head and controls the position momentarily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Barker misses with the ground and pound.
Miocic is trying to control Barker's posture but Barker avoids it.
Barker could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Miocic is looking for a sweep.

Miocic manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Barker missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barker wants to control but Miocic is keeping him busy.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Miocic throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Barker tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Miocic is in Barker's guard.

Barker is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Miocic presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Miocic turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Barker throws Miocic to one side and escapes!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Miocic shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Barker is trying to defend but Miocic finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Barker manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Miocic keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Miocic is looking for submissions but instead, Barker has regained full guard.

Barker looking for a guillotine here but Miocic defends easily.

Miocic drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Miocic as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Barker screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Miocic! Nice submission victory there!
