Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Eric Luke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Jager (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Eric Luke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Thomas Jager!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luke scores with a one two! Jager had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Luke fails with a takedown attempt.
Jager flicks out a counter leg kick but Luke steps away.

Luke closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jager did well to prevent Luke getting side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jager can do anything to dispel that myth.
Jager is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Luke wants to advance to full mount but Jager doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jager pulls Luke in close to his closed guard and prevents Luke from doing any damage or advancing position.
Jager wants to sweep but no luck.

Jager seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jager working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Luke doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Luke manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Luke is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jager is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Luke controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Luke accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A low kick from Luke misses

and Jager counters with a nice double leg into side control. Luke won't be happy with that.
Jager creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Jager landing a few strikes.
Luke struggling a bit here.
Jager tries to advance to mount but Luke denies him.

Jager tries for a kimura but Luke is defending well.
Jager in side control lands a decent elbow.
Jager wants to lay and pray for a moment but Luke keeps working.

Jager lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Luke down.

Luke is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Luke manages to get back to half guard.
Luke tries to get to full guard but Jager has control of the leg.
Jager is trying to control. Luke wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Luke is trying to get back to full guard.
Luke looks like he's trying to stand up.
Jager scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Luke has hold of Jager's hands but Jager slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Luke is looking to control Jager's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Luke avoid being mounted?
Luke is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Jager scores with a couple of nice shots.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Luke wants to control but Jager is keeping busy.
Jager looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Thomas Jager will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Jager appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Nice takedown defense from Jager. No joy for Luke on that attempt.
Jager was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Luke misses with a head kick.
Jager stuffs the takedown.
Jager is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Luke has managed to clinch.
Jager is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Luke pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Jager gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Luke.

Jager jumps guard but Luke turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Jager wants to take the fight to the mat but Luke manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Luke turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Luke manages to end up in side control.

Luke is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jager is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Luke tries to stand but Jager is controlling his head.

Luke is trying to get an arm triangle but Jager is defending well.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Jager seems a little lost for a moment, as Luke dominates the positioning.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jager.
Luke tries for a takedown but Jager circles away easily

and Jager decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Luke's guard.
Luke looking for a sweep. Not yet Luke, not yet.

Jager won't allow Luke to get back to his feet.

Jager lands a couple of elbows.

Luke working for a triangle but Jager defends it easily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Luke is on top in guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jager is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eric Luke dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Luke throws a head kick but Jager moves out of range.
Jager with the counter takedown but Luke avoids it easily.

Luke clinches.
Jager tries to circle away but Luke has him pinned against the cage.
Luke prevents the takedown attempt.

Luke's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Luke goes for a double leg but Jager avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Jager continues to drive forward.
Jager gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Luke counters by clinching up.

Luke jumps guard.
Jager is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Luke wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Jager is now in half guard.
Jager thows a huge punch but Luke dodges it nicely.
Jager takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Luke is staying active underneath Jager, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Luke keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Luke is looking to escape.
Jager working Luke over with strikes.
Luke tries to roll over but Jager keeps him under control.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jager connects with a nice short shot to Luke's temple.

Jager is trying to control the action in half guard but Luke is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Luke has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jager is working away from the top position though.
Jager winds up and cracks Luke with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Jager is looking to stall here but Luke recovers full guard.
Luke is trying to keep Jager in close.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

No luck for Jager with that takedown attempt.
Eric Luke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thomas Jager.
The fight stays on the outside here - Luke looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jager tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Luke closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Luke slips a nice elbow through Jager's hands, connecting with Jager's forehead.

Eric Luke is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Luke has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
