Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sami Assasi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Bravo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Sami Assasi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnny Bravo!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Sam Margolis and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Assasi misses the shot to the body.
Assasi takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Bravo uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Assasi has time to react.
Bravo moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Bravo scores with a one two! Assasi had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Assasi closes the distance and clinches up with Bravo, looking for a takedown. Assasi pushes Bravo against the cage but Bravo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Assasi takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Assasi shoots for a takedown but Bravo saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Bravo looks to land a combination but Assasi avoids it well.
Bravo fails to land with a series of punches.

Johnny Bravo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Assasi drives through and clinches with Bravo against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Bravo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The fight stays on the outside here - Assasi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
No joy there for Bravo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bravo throws a right hand that Assasi ducks under and follows up with a left that Assasi also avoids with ease.
Bravo tries to clinch up but Assasi circles away and keeps his distance.
Assasi takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Bravo darts in trying to clinch

and Assasi decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bravo's guard.
Assasi tries to free his leg and advance position but Bravo is retaining full guard.
Bravo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Assasi passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Bravo prevents Assasi from moving into mount.

Bravo is letting Assasi control him for a moment.
Bravo is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Assasi asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Assasi thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bravo is trying to improve his position.
You can see the frustration on Bravo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bravo is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Assasi has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Bravo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Assasi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Assasi decides to stand back up. Assasi steps back and let's Bravo get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Assasi gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Assasi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Johnny Bravo will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Assasi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bravo but Bravo pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Bravo fails to land the takedown.
Bravo throws a series of punches but Assasi moves out of range.
Assasi has his takedown stuffed
and Bravo counters with a left and a right that stings Assasi.
Bravo misses with a two punch combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bravo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Assasi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Assasi shoots in for a double leg but Bravo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sami Assasi. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Assasi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bravo tries to avoid it but Assasi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bravo to the ground. Bravo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bravo throws a right and a left that Assasi avoids nicely.

Bravo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Assasi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

and Assasi counters with a single leg into guard. Bravo didn't expect that.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bravo kicks Assasi off and gets to his feet.
Assasi shoots in and drives through. Bravo sprawls well.
Bravo comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

and Assasi counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bravo won't be happy with that.
Assasi tries to advance to mount but can't.

Assasi tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bravo smiles and moves away.

Bravo throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Assasis head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bravo prevents a takedown attempt there.

Bravo breaks from the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sami Assasi will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Assasi gets to his feet. Bravo looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Bravo fails with an attempt to clinch.
No joy there for Bravo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A combination from Bravo does no damage.
Bravo swats away the attempt to clinch by Assasi.
Bravo throws a right and a left that Assasi avoids nicely.
Bravo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bravo tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Assasi holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Assasi has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bravo is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Assasi fails to pull guard.
Bravo tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Assasi's elbow.
Assasi blocking some punches.
Bravo wants to break the clinch but can't.

and Assasi counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Assasi.
Assasi prevents Bravo from getting back to his feet.
Bravo is trying to control the position but Assasi postures up.
Assasi is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Bravo wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Bravo rushes Assasi and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Bravo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Assasi won't allow Bravo to pass to mount.
Assasi wants to improve his position but Bravo is controlling well.

Assasi looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight!
Sami Assasi showed his dominance in that final round.
