Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Emilio Sanford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Iaquinta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Iaquinta has chosen Amish Paradise by Weird Al as his entrance music. Diego Iaquinta has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Diego Iaquinta!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Iaquinta shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sanford's guard.
Sanford pulls Iaquinta in close to his closed guard and prevents Iaquinta from doing any damage or advancing position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Iaquinta is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Iaquinta has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Sanford is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Iaquinta.
