Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Darwin Dixon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rich Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Joseph Jones and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson tries to land a front kick but Dixon steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Dixon really is a fat lump.
Johnson fails in his attempt to clinch.
Johnson throws a sloppy head kick and Dixon moves out of range easily.

The fight stays on the outside here - Johnson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Dixon went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Johnson throws a body kick that misses

and Dixon counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Dixon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Johnson finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Dixon seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Some wild striking there from Johnson.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson digs a good hook to Dixon's body.
Johnson tries to land a front kick but Dixon steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Dixon tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Johnson clinches up against the cage.
Dixon can't find room to land a body shot as Johnson controls the action.

Dixon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Dixon takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Johnson is looking to clinch but Dixon is avoiding it.
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch but Dixon swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Johnson wants to clinch.

Johnson has taken the fight to the clinch.

Johnson works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Dixon pushes Johnson off and gets back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

It looks like Darwin Dixon has been cut.
Johnson falls off balance throwing a combination

and Dixon counters by moving into the clinch.

Dixon decides to pull guard.
Johnson sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Johnson stopping the sweep attempt from Dixon.
Johnson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Johnson passes Dixon's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Johnson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dixon keeps working.

Johnson decides to stand up.
Johnson misses with a head kick.
Dixon throws a head kick but Johnson moves out of range.
Johnson throws a predictable looking body shot

and Dixon counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Johnson has hold of one of Dixon's legs. Dixon is fighting the takedown attempt but Johnson gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Dixon wants to sweep here but Johnson controlling him for the moment.

Johnson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Dixon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Johnson is one step ahead there.
Johnson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Johnson controlling from the top position.
Dixon punching to the body, from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rich Johnson dominated that round.

Dixon gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Dixon throws a combination that misses

and Johnson counters with a crisp one two that drops Dixon! Johnson thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Dixon to his feet! Dixon is in big trouble!
Johnson drops Dixon with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Dixon! Johnson dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rich Johnson!
