Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brady Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Miller might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Logic feat. Castro - Ballin. Johnny Miller has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Johnny Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brady Burns!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns misses the shot to the body.
A little feinted left hand from Miller on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Burns throws a nice outside leg kick.
Burns's coach down at Lovelair Muay Thai/MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Burns's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Burns cracks Miller with an open hand slap.
Miller throws a body shot but no joy.
Burns jabs Miller to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Miller gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Miller thows a leg kick but Burns checks it
and Burns counters with a left to the body.
Miller takes one to the side of the head.
Burns goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Burns throws a jab when Miller was well out of range.

and Burns counters with a nice body kick.

Burns throws a hook to the side of Miller's head but Miller sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

The crowd cheers as Burns lands an impressive looking overhand right. Miller doesn't seem phased though.
Miller looks to land a body kick but Burns moved away.
Burns looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Burns keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Burns throws out a counter right but Miller avoids it with no problem.
Miller throws a head kick but Burns moves out of range.
Burns connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Miller's hands.

The fighters circle momentarily. Burns darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Burns lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Burns throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Burns is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Miller had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Miller takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Burns connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Miller's hands.

Burns seems to have recovered his senses.

Miller swings wildly with an uppercut but Burns uses good head movement to avoid it.

Burns has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Miller is trying to keep an underhook but Burns manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Burns looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Burns goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Burns rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Miller counters with a stiff right hand.
Burns keeps Miller at a distance using the push kick.
Miller is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Miller stalks Burns and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Burns's face. Burns staggers backwards, shaken.

Burns's jab looks to have found its range, popping Miller under the eye.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Burns, as that shot connected.

Miller on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Miller closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Burns stalks Miller and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Miller's face. Miller staggers backwards, shaken.

Burns shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Burns was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Burns is looking to take a break and control but Miller is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Burns throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Miller works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Burns is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Burns wants to advance to full mount but Miller doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Brady Burns showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Miller covers up and Burns unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
