PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jacques Ellison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Krag Dahrhaamer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jacques Ellison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Krag Dahrhaamer!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dahrhaamer scores with a jab to the head.
Ellison will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Dahrhaamer scores with a jab to the body.

Dahrhaamer changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ellison looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Dahrhaamer throws a strike aimed at the side of Ellison's head but Ellison avoids it well.
Dahrhaamer throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Dahrhaamer tries to score with some ground and pound. Ellison controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

It looks like Jacques Ellison has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dahrhaamer trying to control the action but Ellison is working from the bottom.
Dahrhaamer is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Let's hope that Dahrhaamer has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Dahrhaamer is looking to take a break and control but Ellison is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dahrhaamer happy to just control the position for now.
Dahrhaamer in side control, throwing shots but Ellison defends.
Dahrhaamer is staying tight to Ellison's torso, preventing him from escaping.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Ellison has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Dahrhaamer finds it's way round the side to connect with Ellison's head.
Dahrhaamer misses the shot to the body.
Ellison takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Sloppy strikes from Dahrhaamer. Those never looked like landing.
Ellison appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dahrhaamer throws out a loose jab but Ellison uses good head movement to avoid it.
Dahrhaamer cracks Ellison with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Dahrhaamer darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Dahrhaamer throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Ellison is defending against the submission attempts here by Dahrhaamer.
Ellison is not content to let Dahrhaamer control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ellison is looking for a sweep. Dahrhaamer is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Dahrhaamer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ellison keeps working.
Ellison misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Ellison regains full guard. Nicely done.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dahrhaamer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Ellison controlling the position.
Dahrhaamer scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dahrhaamer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ellison works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Dahrhaamer's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Krag Dahrhaamer dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jacques Ellison's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Dahrhaamer lands a head shot.


Ellison is rocked!

Dahrhaamer dives in and gets a big takedown. He lands in full mount and immediately unloads a series of heavy strikes! Ellison has had enough and taps out.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Krag Dahrhaamer!
Krag Dahrhaamer bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
