Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Stanton Friedmon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Liu Kang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kang is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Mortal kombat theme. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kang misses with a hook. Friedmon ducked under it nicely.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Kang missing with a left hand there. Friedmon was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Kang looks to score with a jab to the body but Friedmon is just out of range.
Friedmon shoots in looking for a takedown. Kang tries to sprawl out of it but Friedmon keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kang manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Friedmon is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Friedmon has hold of one of Kang's legs. Kang is fighting the takedown attempt but Friedmon gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Kang bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Friedmon's guard.
Kang must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Friedmon lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kang!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kang is in a horrible position here. Friedmon smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Kang tries to reverse the position but Friedmon maintains control.
Friedmon postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Kang looks a forlorn figure.
