Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Garret Delaney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dane Brass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dane Brass will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Garret Delaney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dane Brass!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Micheangelo Fripello and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Delaney looks for a takedown but Brass sprawls well.
Brass steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Delaney.

Brass gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Brass breaks from the clinch.
Brass misses with a head kick.
Delaney fails with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brass lands with a shot to the body.
Brass rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Delaney moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Delaney appears to be looking for a big counter.

Delaney swats away the attempt to clinch by Brass.

Dane Brass seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Brass leaves Delaney with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Garret Delaney. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Brass closes the distance but Delaney moves to the side

and Delaney counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Brass has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Delaney is working away from the top position though.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Brass rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Delaney moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Brass closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Delaney's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Brass throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Delaney works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Delaney manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Delaney has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Brass regains guard immediately.

Brass feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Delaney had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Brass defends it easily.

Delaney has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Brass has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Delaney really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Delaney turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Brass wants to get back to his feet but Delaney is dominant here and he's now got Brass's back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Oooh a big shot gets through from Delaney. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Delaney is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Brass knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Brass for a finish.

Brass is trying to break free.
Delaney slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Brass must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Delaney wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Brass manages to pass to side control.

Brass seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Delaney does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That was a close second round but I would say that Garret Delaney will probably get the nod.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Garret Delaney.
