Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shawn Jordan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy Norvac!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Topper Green and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jordan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Norvac sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jordan somewhat.
Jordan moves forwards but Norvac connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Good exchange - Norvac coming out on top.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Norvac enables Jordan to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Norvac manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Jordan stops Norvac from standing up.
Norvac keeping moving, preventing Jordan from controlling successfully.
Jordan postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jordan keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Norvac's head.
Jordan wants to control from the top but Norvac keeps moving.
Jordan's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Jordan throwing strikes from guard but Norvac blocks nicely.
Jordan makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Norvac wants to stand but Jordan is controlling the position.
Jordan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Jordan distracts Norvac with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Norvac really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jordan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jordan postures up and lands a big shot to Norvac's brow.
Jordan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jordan trying to control the position from guard on top but Norvac is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Norvac wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Jordan manages to pass to side control.
Jordan scoring with strikes to the body and head.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jordan trying to control the pace.
Jordan lands a big elbow - Norvac is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Jordan!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shawn Jordan!
