Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Piotr Smietana!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smietana throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Boson was covering up waiting for the punch and Smietana finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Boson wants to stand up but Smietana is controlling him.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boson wants to get back to his feet but Smietana is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Smietana stands and throws Boson's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Smietana is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Boson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Smietana working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Smietana is putting a hurting on Boson here, landing some big shots from side control.

Smietana fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Boson can't do much from the bottom here.
Boson parries the strikes from Smietana easily there. Smietana is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Boson to escape.
Smietana is looking to take a break and control but Boson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Boson is working to avoid the ground and pound but Smietana connects with a decent elbow.

Smietana has an Americana. Boson didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Smietana is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Smietana hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Piotr Smietana!
A relieved looking Piotr Smietana thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
