Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jarrett Coffey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dabbart Younger!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Alexandre Firmino and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Younger misses with a takedown

and Coffey counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Younger looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Coffey could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Younger wants to get back to full guard.

Younger looking for submissions off his back.
Coffey knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Younger on the ground.

Younger looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Coffey decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Younger tries for a takedown but Coffey circles away easily

and Coffey counters with a nice double leg into side control. Younger won't be happy with that.

Younger gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Coffey is nestled in close to Younger, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Coffey is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Younger is just riding it out for now. Coffey eventually gives up the hold.
Coffey winds up and cracks Younger with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Younger wants to get back to full guard.
Coffey wants to stand up but Younger is controlling the position.
Younger wants to get back to full guard.
Coffey seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Younger is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Coffey tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Younger.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Coffey wants to work for an arm triangle but Younger is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Coffey lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Younger is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Younger is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Coffey pulls his head out easily.
Younger looks winded!
Coffey is controlling the pace.

Coffey decides to return to a standing position.
Younger shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Coffey as he jumps to the side.
Jarrett Coffey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dabbart Younger.

Coffey shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Younger is trying to defend but Coffey finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Younger tries to get to full guard but Coffey has control of the leg.

Coffey tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Younger.

Younger is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Coffey pulls his head out easily.

Coffey tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Coffey looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Coffey decides to return to a standing position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
No luck for Younger with that takedown attempt.
Coffey tries to counter with a takedown but Younger is quick to defend against it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jarrett Coffey dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Younger will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Younger gets caught napping as Coffey dives in and scores a takedown. Younger manages to retain guard.
Coffey controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Coffey trying to stand up but can't free himself from Younger's guard.

Coffey has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Younger to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Coffey is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Younger pulls down on the head and he's put Coffey to sleep! This one is all over!
