Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Flare (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Flare is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, John Flare!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Daniel Bishop and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flare looks to land a right hand but Smith moved out of range.
Flare tries to clinch but Smith moves out of range.

Flare gets caught flat footed, as Smith shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Smith controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Smith preventing the sweep.
Smith wants to control from the top but Flare keeps moving.
Smith knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Flare on the ground.

Flare working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Smith has passed into half guard!
Smith is keen to just control but Flare is a slippery customer.

Flare is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Smith is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Flare is just riding it out for now. Smith eventually gives up the hold.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Smith shoots in looking for a takedown. Flare tries to sprawl out of it but Smith keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Flare manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Flare has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Smith can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Smith is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Flare is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Smith wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Flare, who protects the arm well.
Flare tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Smith tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Smith has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

A close second round but John Flare will probably get the nod - 10:9.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Smith bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

You can see the frustration on Flare's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Flare takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Smith is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Flare knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Smith takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Flare tries to get to full guard but Smith has control of the leg.
Smith wants to control but Flare is keeping him busy.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to John Smith.
I think Flare has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
