PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Miz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stevens clinches.
Miz tries to score a body lock takedown but Stevens shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Stevens fails with an attempt to clinch.

Ryan Stevens is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The fighters circle momentarily. Stevens darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Miz closes the distance and clinches up with Stevens, looking for a takedown. Miz pushes Stevens against the cage but Stevens circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Stevens throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Miz fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Stevens sprawls well initially but Miz persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Miz looking to break Stevens's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Stevens remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Miz will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Let's hope that Miz has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ryan Stevens.
