PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bradford Doyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Wiebe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bradford Doyle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Terry Wiebe!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Dillan Fox and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wiebe gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Doyle drops down looking for an ankle pick but Wiebe pulls his leg out and moves away.
A bone on bone clash there as Doyle blocks the leg kick.

Doyle drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Wiebe is pushing Doyle's head away, looking to escape. Doyle manages to hold on to the position though.

Wiebe sneaks out the side door and pushes Doyle away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wiebe stuffs the takedown attempt from Doyle. Doyle gets slowly back to his feet.

and Doyle counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Wiebe thinking.

Wiebe throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Wiebe tries to land a knee to the head but Doyle blocks with his arms.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Doyle ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Doyle no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

It looks like Bradford Doyle has been cut.
Doyle fails with a takedown attempt.
Wiebe throws a sloppy head kick and Doyle moves out of range easily.
A little feinted left hand from Doyle on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Doyle manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Wiebe on his heels. He'll look to pass Wiebe's guard now, I'm sure.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Doyle gets tackled into the cage by Wiebe. Wiebe maintains the clinch.
Wiebe lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Doyle dodges an elbow strike from Wiebe.

Doyle wants the takedown. Wiebe is fighting it off but Doyle persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Wiebe's guard against the cage.

Wiebe has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Doyle off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Doyle has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Wiebe after a bit of a struggle.

Doyle is trying to maintain a safe position but Wiebe gets an underhook and turns Doyle into the cage.

Doyle closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Wiebe tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Doyle manages to move to mount!

Wiebe is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Wiebe moves in looking to clinch but Doyle pushes him off.
Wiebe connects with the punch.
Wiebe tries to close the distance and clinch but Doyle swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Doyle takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Wiebe looks to throw the jab but Doyle is out of range.

Doyle decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Doyle looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Wiebe tries to escape back to his feet but Doyle has kept hold of him... Oh, now he's got Wiebe's back and is looking for the choke... Is it? Is it sunk in? YES! Wiebe is tapping! Doyle saw the opportunity and took it - ruthless!
