The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sandoval shoots for a double leg takedown but Monk sprawls well. He's pushed Sandoval's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Monk thuds his right hand into Sandoval's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
It looks like Edwin Sandoval has been cut.
Sandoval misses with a takedown attempt
and Monk connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Sandoval shoots and misses
and Monk counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edwin Sandoval. That's going to take a lot out of him.
and Monk counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Sandoval! He's just covering up as Monk starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
