The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Skeeves looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Joe looking for a guillotine here but Skeeves defends easily.
Joe is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Joe had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Skeeves is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Joe Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Skeeves's back instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Joe is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Skeeves is defending well though. Joe let's go of the attempt for now.

Skeeves is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Joe gets his way!
Skeeves rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Skeeves is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Joe's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Joe's back!

Joe manages to reverse the position and now he's in Skeeves's guard. Nice work there by Joe.

Skeeves working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Joe doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Skeeves is tightening it up a little... Joe has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Joe reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Joe taps out! nice BJJ there by Skeeves!
