PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fernando Augusto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sumi Gaeshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Augusto might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to adu-kein scherz. Gaeshi has chosen Welcome to the Jungle as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Sumi Gaeshi!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, William Gold and Andrew Berry.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaeshi throws a right hand that Augusto ducks under and follows up with a left that Augusto also avoids with ease.
Augusto goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Augusto shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gaeshi but Gaeshi pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Augusto counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Augusto.

No joy there for Gaeshi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Augusto is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gaeshi is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Augusto tries to pull guard but Gaeshi holds him up against the cage and eventually Augusto drops back down to his feet.

Augusto has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Gaeshi regains guard immediately.

Augusto closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gaeshi to the mat! Gaeshi manages to get full guard.

Gaeshi has hold of Augusto's hands but Augusto slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Gaeshi lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Augusto!

That was a close second round but I would say that Fernando Augusto will probably get the nod.

Gaeshi decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Augusto moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Oooh a big shot gets through from Augusto. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Augusto is cranking Gaeshi's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Gaeshi! He's tightened the choke and Gaeshi is tapping out!
