Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Thorin Steve!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Naoise Durnin!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Sergei Dronov and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steve bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Durnin's head.
Durnin shoots in for a takedown but Steve shows good takedown defense.
Steve is looking to counter punch.
Durnin fails with the takedown.
Steve throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Durnin on the side of the head.
Durnin doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Steve counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Thorin Steve has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Naoise Durnin.
Durnin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Durnin takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Durnin fails with the takedown
and Steve counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Thorin Steve seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Durnin fails with an attempt to clinch.
Steve connects with a good right hand that stumbles Durnin. Durnin circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Steve throws a hook but Durnin blocks it.
Steve lands a jab to the nose.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Steve is throwing punches like he's double parked. Oh my word! Huge right hand from Steve shuts the power down on Durnin. Lights out, game over! Steve is your winner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Thorin Steve!
Thorin Steve decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
