Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wiremu Huia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Huia comes to the cage accompanied by Poi E - Patea Maori Club. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stone keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Huia.
Huia shoots in but no luck this time.

Huia drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Huia wants to pass the guard but Stone is keeping the position.
Stone pulls Huia in close to his closed guard and prevents Huia from doing any damage or advancing position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Huia drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Huia jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Stone throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Huia swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Stone scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Stone misses the jab.
A swing and a miss from Stone.
Huia changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Stone tries to avoid it but Huia manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Stone to the ground. Stone escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Huia misses with an uppercut. Stone saw that one coming.

Stone uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Huia.
Huia throws the left hand but Stone avoids the punch easily.
Stone buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Stone bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Stone swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Stone lands with an overhand left.
Stone uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Huia.
A big left from Huia misses.
Huia misses with a double jab.
Stone is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Stone connects with a looping right hand.
Stone walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
A jab lands there for Stone.
Huia lands with a straight right. Stone didn't see that one coming.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Stone, as that shot connected.
Huia rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Stone counters with a huge left! Huia is in big trouble! He's backing up but Stone isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Huia from any more damage. A dominating finish by Stone!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Stone!
A relieved looking Jack Stone thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
