Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alvin Firpo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Maurice Jenkins!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Anthony Taglia and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Firpo loads up on a big right hand but Jenkins slips the punch.
Firpo moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Firpo lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Jenkins at a distance.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Jenkins has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Good standup being displayed there by Firpo as he connects with a hook.
Jenkins's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Firpo connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Jenkins scrambles back to his feet.
Jenkins takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Jenkins.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
