Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ahmed Pate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dustin Assad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Roger Salmon and Chris Saunders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pate closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Assad's guard.
Pate could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Assad looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Assad looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Pate connects with a couple of short punches.
Pate with a flurry of punches that miss.

Assad working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pate doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pate manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pate avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Assad has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pate can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Assad had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pate defends it easily.
Assad is trying to keep Pate in close.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Assad pushes a forearm under Pate's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Pate is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
