Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brock Colon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Nathan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Nathan has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Brock Colon's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Brock Colon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Nathan!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Colon pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
It seemed like Nathan was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Colon really is a fat lump.
Colon keeps the fight on the outside.
Nathan tries to close the distance and clinch but Colon swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Colon attempts a counter takedown but Nathan avoids it well and moves away.
Colon tries a head kick but it misses.
Nathan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Colon defends well and Nathan ends up having to push Colon into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Colon wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Nathan shoots in for a double leg but Colon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Colon thinks about countering with a head kick.
Nathan checks a leg kick.
Despite the aggression on Nathan's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nathan misses with a few strikes there.
Nathan shoots in for a takedown but Colon shows good takedown defense.
Colon feinted with a counter takedown.
Brock Colon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Nathan.
Colon pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nathan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Colon tries to avoid it but Nathan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Colon to the ground. Colon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Nathan lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Colon throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Nathan tries to pull guard but Colon holds him up against the cage and eventually Nathan drops back down to his feet.

Nathan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nathan shoots in for a takedown but Colon shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Nathan takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Colon gets caught flat footed, as Nathan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Colon is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nathan working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Nathan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Colon working for a triangle but Nathan defends it easily.
Colon is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Nathan wants to control from the top but Colon keeps moving.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Colon is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Nathan presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Nathan manages to break the clinch.
Nathan looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Nathan throws a sloppy head kick

and Colon decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Nathan's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Nathan had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Colon defends it easily.
Nathan looks winded!
Colon is in close to Nathan's body, working some short punches and elbows.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brock Colon dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


A head kick from Nathan lands but Colon takes it in his stride.
Colon looks to land a left hand but Nathan moved out of range nicely.
Nathan unleashes a big counter combination but Colon bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
John Nathan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nathan misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nathan tries to clinch but Colon moves out of range.
Colon lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Colon tries a head kick but it misses.
Nathan wants to counter with a clinch but Colon pushes him away.
Nathan moves to clinch but Colon breaks away

and Colon counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Colon is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Nathan can do to turn this around?

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Colon winds up and cracks Nathan with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Colon working over Nathan with some ground and pound. Nathan looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Colon looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Colon scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Colon looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nathan with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Nathan pushes Colon off but Colon dives into side control.
Colon lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Colon is putting a hurting on Nathan here, landing some big shots from side control.
Colon is chipping away with strikes.
Colon trying to control the position but Nathan is working away.
Nathan struggling a bit here.

Nathan tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Colon wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Brock Colon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Nathan takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Nathan tries to escape but Colon is in control.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Colon lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Nathan tries to lock up and control but Colon gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Colon fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!


Nathan is rocked!
Nathan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Colon cracks Nathan with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Nathan is still in real trouble! Can Colon finish him?
Oooooh, big shot lands for Colon! Nathan is hurt baaadly! Colon is firing away with more strikes - Nathan is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brock Colon!
