Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Corey Burton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rakan Alrashed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rakan Alrashed has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Corey Burton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rakan Alrashed!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alrashed scores with a three punch combo!
Burton takes one to the chin there.

Alrashed moves into the clinch.
Burton doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Alrashed looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Alrashed prevents a body shot from Burton.
Alrashed wants to break the clinch but can't.

Alrashed escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Alrashed forces Burton back against the cage and clinches.

Alrashed wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Alrashed has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Burton uses from the top position.
Alrashed is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Burton drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Burton jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Burton is desperately trying to improve his position but Alrashed has a good base and remains in mount.
Burton is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Alrashed throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Alrashed escapes and gets back to his feet.

Burton gets in close and instigates a clinch.
A right handed body shot lands from Burton.

Alrashed has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Burton is trying to keep an underhook but Alrashed manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Burton pushes Alrashed off and gets back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Alrashed misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Burton tries to clinch there but Alrashed circles away.

Alrashed throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Burton was covering up waiting for the punch and Alrashed finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Burton has his foot on Alrashed's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Alrashed works his way back into a safe position though.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Alrashed throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Alrashed lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Burton backs up against the cage.
Burton moves in looking to clinch but Alrashed pushes him off.
Alrashed keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Alrashed shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Burton napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Alrashed is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Burton knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Burton is trying to control Alrashed's posture but Alrashed avoids it.
Burton parries the strikes from Alrashed easily there. Alrashed is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Burton to escape.

Rakan Alrashed showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Alrashed lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Alrashed misses with the combination.

Burton gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Alrashed to score an easy takedown into full guard.
