Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Maynard !
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Franklyn Lucas and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maynard scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Dalton throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Marcus Maynard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dalton forces Maynard back against the cage and clinches.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Maynard wants to stand and escape but instead Dalton has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Maynard is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We've been informed that Maynard has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Dalton throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Maynard bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Dalton is looking for a sweep.
Maynard is looking to take a break and control but Dalton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dalton tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Maynard wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Maynard is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dalton is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Maynard is staying tight to Dalton's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Dalton tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Maynard wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Maynard is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Dalton doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Dalton isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Maynard stacks Dalton on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Maynard !
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dalton tries to bench press Maynard off him but Maynard keeps the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Dalton tries to buck Maynard off but Maynard is having none of it.

Marcus Maynard showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Maynard drives through with a takedown into Dalton's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Dalton manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Maynard has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Dalton is trying to keep an underhook but Maynard manages to get the takedown into half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Maynard drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Dalton dives on top into guard.


Maynard throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Dalton escapes and throws Maynard 's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Dalton tries to score with some ground and pound. Maynard controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Dalton throws a strike aimed at the side of Maynard 's head but Maynard avoids it well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Maynard looking for a sweep but Dalton has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Dalton postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Maynard looks a forlorn figure.
Dalton pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Maynard sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Maynard tries to roll over but Dalton keeps him under control.
Maynard has hold of Dalton's hands but Dalton slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Maynard is staying active underneath Dalton, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dalton connects with a nice short shot to Maynard 's temple.
