Janasen throws a poor cross that misses
and Diaz counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Diaz closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Janasen quickly recovers to half guard.
Janasen misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Diaz is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Diaz lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Diaz looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Diaz is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Janasen!

Diaz lands a big elbow.
Diaz is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Janasen is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Janasen flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Diaz anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Janasen and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Diaz slips an arm under Janasen chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Diaz has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Diaz is squeezing on Janasen like an anaconda would it's prey. Janasen fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Luiz Diaz!
