PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Farouk Al Ahwei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gracie Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Al Ahwei comes to the cage accompanied by Whirling Madness. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Farouk Al Ahwei!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gracie Allen!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Ahwei is looking to clinch.
Al Ahwei connects with a solid leg kick.
Al Ahwei changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Allen tries to avoid it but Al Ahwei manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Allen to the ground. Allen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Al Ahwei connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Allen's hands.
Al Ahwei misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Allen.
Allen wants to counter with a clinch but Al Ahwei pushes him away.
Allen misses with a kick to the body
and Al Ahwei counters with a nice body shot.
Allen motions for Al Ahwei to come forward. Allen throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Al Ahwei is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Al Ahwei bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Al Ahwei fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Allen wants to slow Al Ahwei down by chopping away at his legs.
Allen moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Some bone on bone action there as Allen checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Allen forces Al Ahwei back against the cage and clinches.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Al Ahwei breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Allen takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Al Ahwei takes a jab right on the kisser.
Al Ahwei throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Al Ahwei digs a good body shot into Allen's ribs.
Allen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Al Ahwei moves away.
Allen throws a nice looking combination but Al Ahwei bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Al Ahwei lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
A nice leg kick lands there from Al Ahwei.
Allen takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Al Ahwei thumps Allen with a low kick.
Al Ahwei misses the jab.
Allen on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Al Ahwei on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
An inside leg kick from Al Ahwei misses.
Allen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Al Ahwei moves away.
Al Ahwei moves out of range as Allen throws a body kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Al Ahwei bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Allen takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Al Ahwei throws a leg kick but Allen sees it coming and moves out of range.
Al Ahwei throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Al Ahwei buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Allen walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Allen throws a chopping leg kick but Al Ahwei manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Al Ahwei uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Allen has time to react.
Allen is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Al Ahwei.
Al Ahwei drops down looking for a counter takedown but Allen sprawls and moves away.
It looks like Al Ahwei has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Allen connects with a body shot.
Al Ahwei throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Allen counters with a stiff right hand.
Allen attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Al Ahwei gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Allen.
Allen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Al Ahwei fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Allen checks it well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Allen lands a lovely overhand right.
Allen is looking to clinch.
Gracie Allen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Al Ahwei walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.


Al Ahwei is rocked!
Al Ahwei connects with a crisp jab.
Oh Al Ahwei is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Good standup being displayed there by Al Ahwei as he connects with a hook.

Allen gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Allen manages to break the clinch.
Al Ahwei seems to have got his legs back now.
Allen cracks Al Ahwei with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Al Ahwei tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Allen pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Al Ahwei is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gracie Allen!
A relieved looking Gracie Allen thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
In defeat, Farouk Al Ahwei stepped up to the mic, saying 'Once again, I hang my head in shame, again.'.
