Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenta Yuudai (ranked 1482 p4p, 45 weight class) and Jimi Powell (ranked 1031 p4p, 31 weight class). Powell has chosen 8 Mile as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powell moves into the clinch.
Powell lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Yuudai backwards.
Yuudai tries to pull guard but Powell forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Powell pulls guard.
Yuudai postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Yuudai throws a big elbow that misses.
Yuudai trying to control but Powell is working from the bottom.
Yuudai wants to pass the guard but Powell is keeping the position.
Powell is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yuudai wants to control from the top but Powell keeps moving.

Yuudai is in close to Powell's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Yuudai throws a strike but Powell rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Yuudai throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Powell escapes and throws Yuudai's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Yuudai is trying to control Powell's posture but Powell avoids it.
Powell is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Yuudai is looking for a sweep.

Powell moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yuudai is looking to reverse the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yuudai manages to work his way to half guard, despite Powell's best efforts.

Yuudai is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Powell's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Powell's back!

Yuudai is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Powell knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Powell for a finish.

Powell felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Yuudai doesn't have the hooks in and Powell manages to turn into his guard.

Powell swats away the attempt to clinch by Yuudai.
Powell darts in and clinches Yuudai up against the cage.
Yuudai wants to break free but Powell has control.
Yuudai tries to pull guard but Powell won't allow it.
Powell is pressed up against the cage. Yuudai has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Powell down to the mat. Powell avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Powell lands a body shot.
With the fighters up against the cage, Yuudai throws an elbow but misses.
Powell lands with a short shot to the head.
Powell keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Yuudai's efforts to push away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A frustrated look appears on Yuudai's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Yuudai tries to pull guard but Powell holds him up against the cage and eventually Yuudai drops back down to his feet.

Yuudai tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Powell smiles and moves away.

Powell ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Powell instigates a clinch.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Powell.
Powell lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Powell digs a right hand into Yuudai's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Yuudai's gas tank.
Still in the clinch, Powell scores with a nice short uppercut.
Powell lands a hook to the side of the head.
Powell has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
A frustrated look appears on Yuudai's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Yuudai wants to break the clinch but can't.
Powell lands a right hand that snaps the head of Yuudai backwards.
Powell fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Yuudai is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Powell lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Powell lands a left hand that snaps the head of Yuudai backwards.
Yuudai has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Powell is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Powell lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Yuudai jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Powell walks away with a smile on his face. Yuudai gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Yuudai takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Kenta Yuudai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yuudai tries to keep at a distance but Powell has taken the fight into the clinch.
Yuudai tries to pull guard but Powell holds him up against the cage and eventually Yuudai drops back down to his feet.
Yuudai jumps guard but Powell turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Powell swings away with an uppercut that misses.

It looks like Kenta Yuudai has been cut.
Powell digs a right hand into Yuudai's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Yuudai's gas tank.
Yuudai looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Powell presses Yuudai against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Powell drops Yuudai onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Yuudai is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Yuudai is rocked!
Powell has Yuudai pressed against the cage. Yuudai drops his hands and Powell takes advantage by unloading with a massive hook that sends Yuudai tumbling to the canvas! Powell rains down with more punches but Yuudai was already out! That's a highlight reel knockout for Powell!
