Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between William Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Baron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, William Kim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alex Baron!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Baron forces Kim back against the cage and clinches.

Baron pulls guard effortlessly.
Baron is controlling Kim's posture.
Baron's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Baron is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Baron trying to control the position.
Kim will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kim trying to control the position from guard on top but Baron is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Baron has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kim tries to close the distance and clinch up but Baron swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Baron dives in and scores a takedown into Kim's guard.
Kim pulls Baron in to control the position.
Baron stops Kim from standing up.
Baron with a nice head shot there.

Kim manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Baron breaks from the clinch.

Baron forces Kim back against the cage and clinches.

Baron jumps guard and drags Kim to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Kim trying to control but Baron is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kim won't allow Baron to sweep him here.
Baron controls Kim momentarily but Kim frees himself.
Kim trying to control the position from guard on top but Baron is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kim controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Kim knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Baron on the ground.

Baron had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kim defends it easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Baron throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kim trying to control the position from guard on top but Baron is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Baron is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Baron wants to stand and escape but Kim is having none of it.
Kim pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Baron is keeping the position for now.
Baron wants to sweep but no luck.

Baron is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Baron controls Kim momentarily but Kim frees himself.

Baron is looking for a triangle but Kim pushes his legs off easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Baron wants to stand and escape but Kim is having none of it.
Kim controls from within his opponent's guard.
Kim trying to control the position from guard on top but Baron is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Baron wants to stand and escape but Kim is having none of it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kim wants to control from the top but Baron keeps moving.
Baron seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alex Baron dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Excellent takedown into side control there by Baron.
Baron tries to advance to mount but Kim denies him.
Kim tries to escape but Baron is in control.
Baron connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Kim some visible discomfort.
Baron gets to mount! Kim was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Baron punishing his opponent with strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Baron jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kim manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Baron happy to just control the position for now.
Baron tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kim sneaks out the side door and pushes Baron away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Kim closes the distance and clinches.
Baron unloads a knee to the mid-section.

Baron tightens his grip and picks Kim up, before dumping him to the ground. Kim manages to land in guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Kim manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kim has hold of one of Baron's legs. Baron is fighting the takedown attempt but Kim gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Baron is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Kim rolls with it to try and escape but Baron cranks on the arm and Kim is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Alex Baron!
