Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jason Montgomery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Onni Koski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Montgomery comes to the cage accompanied by Right Said Fred - I'm Too Sexy. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jason Montgomery!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Onni Koski!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Sergei Dronov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montgomery lands a slapping body shot.
Montgomery looks to land a combination but Koski avoids it well.
And Koski tries to counter it with a takedown but Montgomery pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Koski dodges the punch combination from Montgomery.
Montgomery uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Koski.
Montgomery lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Montgomery lands with a nice body punch.
Jason Montgomery seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Montgomery has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Montgomery there as he acknowledges the shot.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Koski in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Koski not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Montgomery seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Montgomery bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Koski's guard.

Montgomery controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Koski pulls Montgomery in close to his closed guard and prevents Montgomery from doing any damage or advancing position.

Montgomery stands and throws Koski's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Koski seems a little lost for a moment, as Montgomery dominates the positioning.
Montgomery creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Koski sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Koski throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Montgomery tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Koski is in Montgomery's guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Koski throws an elbow that misses. Montgomery uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Koski's guard. Nice move by Montgomery!

Koski wants to improve his position but instead Montgomery has moved into half guard.

Onni Koski seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Koski will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Montgomery up against the cage.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jason Montgomery.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Montgomery, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
