Douglass's entrance music is Union Underground - Across The Nation. A fine choice. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Murdo Douglass!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Knuckles Of Steel!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Colin Fray and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel throws a big shot that misses.
And Douglass counters with a quick kick to the body but Steel blocks it.
The fighters circle momentarily. Douglass darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.


It looks like Knuckles Of Steel has been cut.
Steel tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
We've been told by Douglass's head coaches at Blackthorn Reborn that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Steel tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Murdo Douglass seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Steel stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Douglass.
Steel swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Douglass quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Douglass jabs at Steel's body.
Good leg kick by Douglass there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Douglass has managed to clinch.
Douglass is trying to break free.
Steel swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Steel swings wildly with an uppercut but Douglass uses good head movement to avoid it.
Douglass lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Steel has eaten all the pies!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Steel blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Douglass blocking some punches.
Douglass blocking some punches.
Douglass blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Douglass tries to work over Steel's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Steel lands a nice uppercut.
Douglass blocking some punches.
Steel looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Douglass tries to break free but Steel pushes him back against the cage.
Douglass lands a hook to the side of the head.

Douglass breaks from the clinch.
Steel throws a jab but it's blocked by Douglass.
Douglass keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Steel.
Sloppy strikes from Steel. Those never looked like landing.
Douglass was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Douglass lands a jab.
Douglass slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Steel misses the jab.
Douglass connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Douglass lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Douglass cracks Steel with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Steel looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Douglass finish him?


That has opened up Knuckles Of Steel's cut even more.
Steel is aggressively charging in as Douglass backs up avoiding any damage. Douglass tosses out a jab and Steel runs right into it face first! Steel is out cold! Douglass dropped down on all fours and is barking in Steel's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Murdo Douglass!
Murdo Douglass seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
