Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between jack walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Carpenter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). walker comes to the cage accompanied by The Doors - Peace Frog. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jimmy Carpenter was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carpenter tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
walker swats away the attempt to clinch by Carpenter.
Jab from Carpenter.
walker misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Carpenter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but walker circles away quickly and effectively.
Carpenter checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Carpenter keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

and walker counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Carpenter has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. walker avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Carpenter goes for a takedown attempt but walker pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

and walker counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Carpenter's guard now.

walker has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
walker swings away with a leg kick that misses.

and walker counters with a single leg into guard. Carpenter didn't expect that.
walker is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Carpenter wants to sweep but no luck.
walker looking to sit in guard and control but Carpenter gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carpenter slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
walker wants to sweep here but Carpenter controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
walker is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

and walker counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

walker will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Carpenter takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
walker scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Carpenter is breathing heavily.
Carpenter looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? walker is fending him off so far but Carpenter persists. Nope, walker circles away and we're back to standing.

Carpenter wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Carpenter jumps guard but walker stands there with Carpenter around his waist. Carpenter gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Carpenter throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
walker gets underhooks to prevent Carpenter's takedown attempt.
Carpenter tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Carpenter changes levels and goes for a takedown here. walker fights it off and pushes away nicely.

walker is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Carpenter's shoulder. That is not cool.

That's time! walker's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Carpenter shoots in for a double leg but walker sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Carpenter shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has walker pinned against the cage. walker gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jimmy Carpenter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carpenter takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
walker is looking to chop away at Carpenter's legs.

walker throws a shot to the body.
walker pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Carpenter swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and walker counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Carpenter throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and walker counters with a nice leg kick.
walker throws a right hand that Carpenter ducks under and follows up with a left that Carpenter also avoids with ease.

Carpenter is staying active underneath walker, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with walker in particular looking to stall.

walker is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

walker's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

walker is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Carpenter is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Carpenter has escaped and now he's on top!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
