The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Williams or perhaps it was just good defense by Ferguson which made him look bad.

Williams darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Ferguson tries to kick Williams off but Williams keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Williams thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ferguson's head.

Williams wants to work for an arm triangle but Ferguson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Williams is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Ferguson is looking for a sweep. Williams is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Ferguson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Williams thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Williams has his foot on Ferguson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ferguson works his way back into a safe position though.

Oh but Williams is tightening it up a little... Ferguson has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Ferguson reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Ferguson taps out! nice BJJ there by Williams!
